The 2017/18 season started with a bang for Juventus, and now it will start with a whimper.
Coach Massimiliano Allegri has announced that all active players on the Juventus squad will be suspended for the 2018-19 season as part of a two-month rehabilitation programme.
Allegri’s side will have the following active players: Giorgio Chiellini, Davide Santon, Alessio Cerci, Gennaro Gattuso, Alessandro Florenzi, Alessandri Ramos, and Matteo Mancini.
The two-part rehabilitation programme will begin from October 1, and will continue until February 22.
The club will announce the results of the rehabilitation in due course.
The following players are set to be suspended during the rehabilitation period: Alessandro Gabbiadini, Giorgio Scarbini, Matteo Giaccherini, and Alessandro Matri.
The team will play a friendly against a newly formed Italian side on October 17.
