Updated February 27, 2019 11:25:10House construction has been a key theme of the 2016 presidential campaign, with candidates running on the promise of a “Make America Great Again” that will bring manufacturing jobs back to the United States.
Trump and Hillary Clinton have both talked about the need to build more homes and housing projects.
In their first campaign debate, Clinton pledged to “get back to building our houses.”
“It is time to build a real wall between the United Kingdom and Mexico,” Trump said.
“We’ve been talking about building walls.
You see walls.
It’s the perfect wall, but you can’t build walls and people are coming into our country, pouring into our nation.”
Trump, a billionaire real estate developer and former reality TV star, also promised to “make our country great again” by renegotiating trade deals with countries like the United Nations and China.
Clinton, who was first lady, was criticized for her “America first” approach to foreign policy.
Trump has called for the United State to stay in the Paris climate accord and to “renegotiate” trade deals.
