Liverpool and Arsenal are among the teams to have suffered injuries this week but there is still a chance that the sides that will be vying for the title on Saturday night will not have to contend with a heavy workload.
Arsenal are currently without striker Jack Wilshere, who was ruled out for up to two weeks with a hamstring injury, while Liverpool’s star striker Daniel Sturridge, who has scored 15 goals in 17 appearances this season, will not be fit for the game at Anfield.
But both teams have some depth and it could be a tricky task for them to keep their focus on a clash that will have the potential to determine the title race.
“If they can stay fit and they can be in the best shape, they will be a very tough team to beat,” said Sky Sports pundit Gary Lineker.
“It is a game that has the potential of deciding the race and I don’t think it will be easy to pick a side that has that kind of potential.”
Arsenal’s attack may be one of their few strengths and their players have been on the front foot against Liverpool this season.
“I think they have been very effective in the last couple of games, especially when they had the ball and they had chances to score goals,” said Lineker, who believes they are “still a bit shaky”.
“But they have got a big squad.
If they keep playing the way they have the season to come, they could be in a great position.”
But if they lose players like Sturridge or Wilsheres, they are probably in a bit of a bit tough position.
“Arsenal have a tough task in front of them against Liverpool.
The Gunners, who have won the league three times in the past four seasons, are unbeaten in their last 10 Premier League games.
They have not lost in this league since May 2010.
Liverpool have a difficult task to do in the same vein.
They’ve lost their last two games and will be looking to keep it close to the level they’ve achieved in the Premier League.”
You cannot really compare them to the top four teams in the league.
I think they are a good side,” said BBC pundit Phil Neville.”
They are good enough to be in there.
They are a big side and they are capable of doing things.
“Liverpool will have to be creative against a side who are known for their ability to play the ball out of defence.”
“They can play out of their defence, they can get it behind the opposition, they know how to play out in midfield.””
The Gunner’s attack has been a key component to their recent success, scoring 18 goals in the top flight this season and are unbeaten against them in the four games that they have played.”

They have won four consecutive matches and could look to create something from nothing when they face the Reds.
“A lot of the attacking players have got injuries, which means they have to rely on their teammates,” said Ryan Giggs.

The fact that they haven’t got a striker will be very difficult to deal with.”

Arsenal’s top goalscorer Lukas Podolski was in superb form against Liverpool, scoring five times in all three games.
He was the main man of the show in Liverpool’s 4-0 victory over Tottenham last season, scoring a hat-trick to help the Gunners win their first Premier League title since 2008.
However, he is likely to be absent against Liverpool and it is possible that Wilshees absence could cause the hosts to miss their captain.
“He’s got an ankle problem and that could be an issue for him,” said Gary Neville.

I don’ think he is 100%.”
Arsenal are not the only side struggling to find the net.
“Liverpool are very good at scoring goals, so it will take a bit for them, but they are very well organised,” said Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

There are two big things for us – keeping the ball, which is a very big aspect for us.”
