The New York City Housing Authority says it plans to demolish some houses it says have been infested with cockroaches, but the agency is now trying to fix them before it goes into operation.
The city plans to tear down about 20 buildings in its Central Park West neighborhood, which has been plagued by cockroach infestations for decades.
But it has said that it may have to tear them down again if the infestation worsens.
The infestation of cockroches has been so bad that some residents have started calling the infestions “crawlies.”
And it was only recently that the authority began considering replacing some of the houses that are already gone.
